There is not enough POPCORN in the world. PDF of the Olbermann vs. Current lawsuit43 pages. Get a drink and get comfy. EDIT: Downloaded a copy from Scribd without the THR watermark all over it, uploaded it to the Vault, updated the link.

...because there's been progress in the latest to-do, but the following just showed up in my email: Delivered - NEW YORK NY 10014 - 01/09/12 10:49am I'll just be over here, curled in the fetal position and jabbering nonsense. Edit: @TeamOlbermann on Twitter just posted that Shuster is guest-hosting the show all week. THIS IS NOT HELPING.

...let's see if I can get it there before he parts company with another network, hm? ( The new letter )Edit: Our letter carrier picked it up about 40 minutes ago. After waffling over the concept for a bit, I wound up putting (fairly plain) Happy Birthday! stickers on the sides of the box; whether this increases the odds of it actually getting delivered, $DEITY only knows. Further updates as events warrant.

"I am informed"? Why do I not like the sound of that? Edit: This comes from the live chat page on the Current website: "Hi FOK et al - We wanted to answer the questions about Keith Olbermann's participation... Current asked Keith to be the sole anchor and exec producer of our primary and caucus coverage beginning tonight. Unfortunately, he declined to anchor or participate.
We’re excited for tonight’s live four hours of Politically Direct featuring Vice President Gore, Governor Granholm and Cenk Uygur. Countdown will be back tomorrow night!" ...he DECLINED? The hell? Son of Edit: geeoharee does a lovely job of summing it up, on Twitter: So we have our answer: he wanted to do Countdown, he didn't want to do Politically Direct. Whether it's the length of it, or the fact it can ONLY be about Iowa (zzzz) I think that's a pretty fair decision. Current picking PD over CD for tonight... eh. Every network covers the Iowa circus, they want to try to do it right as a fledgling channel. And she's right. This is an excellent chance for Current to distinguish themselves, and a good chance for them to really showcase both Cenk and Jen Granholm. (If they do it right, and we can hope they do.) But it seems fairly obvious that I'm far from the only fangirl who's getting jumpy as January 21st approaches. Mea culpa, in any event.

Yeah, I couldn't stay away.... Have some content, a bit of fluff, and some more meta. - Today's Baseball Nerd is one of my favorite Young Keith stories; I'm fairly sure it's in The Big Show, as well, but it never gets old, and this latest telling of it is an excellent rendition: The Steinbrenner Door
- I found myself wishing earlier today that I had any sort of talent with fimo/Sculpey/etc. I want to make Keith and his Box to Hide In. I'm picturing a diorama of Keith in the Comfy Chair, a stack of Thurbers on one side, a drink on the other...in a nice wooden box with a hinged lid. (Seriously, could I get any dorkier if I tried?)
- I've also decided that I am going to try sending the damn scarf to him again...which means I need to write a second letter. And I need to do it soon; I want to get this in the mail by next Monday. I'll post the new letter when I get it done.

As noted here: Meanwhile, folks in Canada, New Zealand, and other countries that have held the line at the "life+50 years" terms of the Berne Convention can now freely enjoy the works of people like James Thurber, Ernest Hemingway, and H.D.Feel free to debate US copyright law in the comments if you'd like. ;-)

No, I haven't given up on KO, or this community, though Countdown is admittedly not the appointment television it used to be at this point. And I come bearing a topic for discussion: http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/12/29/an-election-year-dawns-without-keith-olbermann/( Heck, I even brought the discussion, too. )EDIT: Since I first read the article, it's been updated with Keith's response to the author's questions: "That's not my understanding. We've already prepared a 'Best Of Countdown' for Monday, and are planning a live Countdown on Tuesday." Earlier this morning, Stelter tweeted that the Current schedule was offline; as I write this, it is online, with no obvious changes to the listings for 03 January. The plot sickens. EDIT 2, ELECTRIC BOOGALOO: And the 'mann weighs in on Twitter: "I've just replied to @BrianStelter as follows: anybody who describes my disposition towards Current as 'disgruntled' is either uninformed, working from a personal agenda, wrong - or all of the above"

I am apparently incapable of hearing "I'm Alright" by Kenny Loggins without immediately picturing KO doing the gopher dance.
Bonus points for anyone else who remembers why. Sainthood for anyone who can provide video.

So, after last week's declaration that he wouldn't be responding to tweets any longer, he started responding to baseball tweets again Monday, and tweets about show content this morning. (And my friend davehogg got a response and an RT last night, but that's really orthogonal to the discussion.) Shall we start a betting pool for the date, subject, and duration of his next flounce?
